Humanities and Social Sciences Subject Committee meeting
The
autumn meeting of Humanities and Social Sciences Subject Committee
was held on the 27th and 28th of October at two Lithuanian
universities: Vytautas Magnus University (Kaunas) and European
Humanities University (Vilnius). Representatives of nine
institutions joined in order to discuss current issues and
achievements of the Subject Committee and plan the strategy for
the next year. The committee members debated on the state of
mobility flows within Campus Europae and the potential
contribution of the Campus Europae to aspects of academic life
other than mobility, such as cooperation in research, teacher
mobility and the establishment of a network of shared interests.
For the first time, a sub-committee representatives meeting
complemented the regular, general meeting of the Subject
Committee. A number of Tourism specialists from six institutions
collaborating in the work of the Subject Committee participated in
the meeting. Thanks to their contribution, it was possible to
discuss important issues regarding exchange in Tourism, define
challenges and achievements in student exchange, and plan the
final steps in reviewing the disciplines and establishing
equivalences in order to finalize the Campus Europae matrices in
Tourism. Given the existing interest in student exchange in the
Tourism field and thus, the need to provide the second cycle
students with possibilities to study abroad, also for the purpose
of the Campus Europae degree, the matrices in Tourism at the
Master level was decided to be elaborated.
